Snapper Smackdown: A Busy Weekend Offshore with KOKA Charters

If there was a theme for this past week, it was simple: red snapper, red snapper, and more red snapper.

We’ve had a steady run of trips lately, and the fish have been showing up. Some groups were made up of longtime fishing buddies looking for a day offshore. Others were families introducing kids to Gulf fishing for the first time. Different groups, same result—plenty of smiles and coolers headed home full of fresh fish.

One of our favorite trips of the weekend was a family charter with kids of all ages. There’s just something special about watching young anglers reel in a big snapper for the first time. By the time we got back to the dock, everyone had a fish in their hands for the picture, and a couple of big jacks hanging alongside the snapper made for a pretty impressive fish board.

The corporate and buddy trips were just as much fun. We had several groups that came ready to fish, and they didn’t leave disappointed. Quality snapper hit the deck throughout the day, and everyone went home with plenty of fillets for the grill.

One thing we’ve enjoyed this season is seeing such a good mix of people on board. One day it’s a group of friends celebrating a weekend together. The next it’s three generations of a family making memories offshore.

The No Doubt has stayed busy, and we couldn’t ask for a better way to spend June. Great customers, healthy snapper, calm enough weather to get offshore, and another week of making memories out in the Gulf.
