A 6-hour trip gives you time to bottom fish and is one of the most popular choices for families and first-time anglers.

An 8- to 12-hour trip allows you to travel farther offshore and target additional species, making it a great option for experienced anglers or groups looking for a full-day adventure.

Offshore vs. Inshore Fishing: What’s the Difference?

Both offer fun experiences, but they’re very different trips.

Offshore fishing takes you into the Gulf to target reef fish and larger game species like Red Snapper, Triggerfish, Amberjack, King Mackerel, and Grouper (when in season).

Inshore fishing stays closer to shore in bays, rivers, and estuaries, targeting species like Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Flounder.

If you’re visiting Fort Morgan and want the classic Gulf Coast fishing experience, offshore fishing is what most people picture.

Private Charter or Shared Charter?

Private charters give your group exclusive use of the boat and let you choose who comes along.

What Should We Bring?

For most trips we recommend bringing:

What If Someone Gets Seasick?

Even experienced boaters occasionally experience motion sickness.

If someone in your group is prone to seasickness:

Take medication before departure (following the product directions). Our favorite is the prescription ear patch. Call your doctor’s office and tell them you are going on a fishing trip – they can probably prescribe it over the phone. Make sure to apply it the night before.
Stay hydrated.
Avoid excessive alcohol before the trip.
Avoid fried food.
Focus on the horizon.
Fresh aire & cold compress.

A little preparation goes a long way.

Can More Than Six People Fish Together?

Yes—but not on every boat.

Most charter boats operate under Coast Guard regulations that limit them to six passengers.

Larger Coast Guard-inspected vessels can legally carry more guests.

If keeping your entire family or group together is important, be sure to ask about passenger capacity before booking.

What Happens If the Weather Is Bad?

Safety always comes first.

If weather conditions are unsafe, your captain may recommend rescheduling or discuss the options available based on your booking.

Because Gulf weather can change quickly, it’s always a good idea to remain flexible during your vacation.

Which Fish Will We Catch?

That depends on the season.
