There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer.

For many visiting families, a 6-hour trip is a great introduction to offshore fishing. It provides enough time to reach productive fishing grounds, catch a variety of species, and enjoy the full deep sea fishing experience without committing to an all-day trip.

Our 4-hour trips are also a really fun option for families looking for a memorable afternoon on the water, but they are generally focused on nearshore trolling rather than traditional offshore reef fishing.

If your goal is to experience what Gulf Coast offshore fishing is all about, we often recommend the 6-hour trip as the best starting point for families and first-time anglers.

Older children and teenagers who enjoy fishing often love our`s 8-hour trips, which provide additional fishing time and access to more offshore fishing opportunities.

And kids are always welcome on our 10-12 hour trips too!!

At KOKA Charters we truly enjoy introducing children & teens to the fun of fishing.

Infants and babies are invited to hop along too.

One thing many parents appreciate is that not every family member has to fish every minute of the trip.

The No Doubt features a safe, air-conditioned cabin where younger children can take a break, enjoy a snack, cool off, or even nap if needed. While the anglers are outside fishing, parents have the flexibility of knowing there’s a comfortable indoor space available when little ones need a rest.

We’ve had plenty of trips where younger children spend part of the day fishing and part of the day relaxing inside the cabin—and that’s perfectly fine. The goal is for everyone in the family to enjoy their time on the water.
